Golf
Golf has been played, in a form barely distinguishable from the present-day game, for over five hundred years. This, despite being banned by a succession of Scottish kings; and being so difficult that most people give it up.
Throughout its history, the gesture of golf -- the "full-swing" -- has been a homespun affair: driven by the impulse to deal a violent blow with a long, comfortably-formed swing, and a good look at the ball.
In golf (as in life) comfort is not necessarily our friend. The comfortable shapes that we are tempted to adopt, particularly at the end of the back-swing, rarely return the club to the ball efficiently.
"The Golden Swing" establishes the less comfortable, but more efficient, shapes and movements that will allow you to enjoy our unique, historic game.
Note: Talking of comfort...The great Harry Vardon had his tweed jackets tailored to fit tightly. He found "freedom of movement" not to be beneficial.
